UGH BREAKING: Iran announces closure of Strait of Hormuz due to ‘violations’

Iran just announced that they are closing the Strait of Hormuz due to ‘violations’ by the US and Israel of the MOU agreement.

Here’s the news:

The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces has issued a warning to all vessels attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the Strait is currently closed due to “U.S. breaches of the war-ending deal and ongoing Israeli ceasefire violations/non-withdrawal in Lebanon,” similar to yesterday’s statement from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGC-N). In the last day, roughly twenty vessels have transited the Hormuz Strait, most following routes near Oman, with so far no attacks by Iran.

 
Yesterday the White House reportedly said that they would not tolerate any impediment to the free flow of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz:

According to @HibaNasr of Asharq News, a White House official has commented on the guidelines for the Strait of Hormuz that were recently announced by Iran’s Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), saying that Iran’s commitment to open the strait free of charge for 60-days clashes with the new PGSA directives and the U.S. will not tolerate a deviation from the agreed upon framework.

I guess we’ll see what happens here. But it sounds like Iran is going to continue to come up with excuses to break the agreement in order to strong-arm the US with the Strait of Hormuz to get more concessions. Trump should just begin bombing them to kingdom come until the regime is no more. That’s the only way to restore peace in my humble opinion.

In related news, the US does have a delegation (Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner) negotiating with Iran in Switzerland, and VP Vance said he may join them in a few days.
