It’s being reported that Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu has just ordered the IDF to cease fire in Lebanon after taking out around 100 Hezbollah terrorists.
But a top Israeli official reiterates that they are not evacuating southern Lebanon and will continue responding with force against continued Hezbollah attacks.
Here’s the news:
BREAKING: At the direction of the Prime Minister, the IDF has been instructed to cease fire in Lebanon; Israeli official: “The policy remains in place and has not changed.”
An Israeli official tells me that Israel’s policy remains unchanged:
“The IDF remains free to act to remove threats and is operating against every violation by the Hezbollah terrorist organization.
If Hezbollah violates the ceasefire, the IDF will respond with force, as demonstrated over the past two days, during which more than 300 targets were struck and approximately 100 Hezbollah operatives were eliminated.
At the same time, the IDF continues to hold the security zone and maintains full freedom of action within the Yellow Line to clear the area of terrorist infrastructure.”Another Israeli official summarized the policy succinctly:
“They attacked, we responded — and that is how we will continue.”
