A police K9 named “Dash” went after a suspect who was trying to escape arrest in Oklahoma City and got dragged by the suspect driving a stolen vehicle.
Dash finally let go, rolled a few times and nearly got run over by the suspect. Fortunately, Dash will recover from his road burn injuries, according to News9.com, who says he’ll be on leave for a few weeks.
Here’s the video:
News9 reporters that the driver “drove onto railroad tracks during the pursuit, causing the truck to get stuck. The suspect took off on foot into a wooded area. Officers launched a drone to locate Balderas and took him into custody.”
So they got their man after all. Boy that dude is in a heap more trouble than he would have been if he’d just given up the first time:
Balderas was arrested on complaints of mistreating a police dog, attempting to elude, possession of meth and driving a stolen vehicle. Police said Balderas threw a bag of meth out of his pocket while he was running from officers.
Sheesh.
