BREAKING: One dead after ICE shooting in Maine – [UPDATED]

It’s just being reported that one person is dead after an altercation that involved ICE agents in Biddeford, Maine.

CNN has the news:

A person was killed Monday in an ICE-involved shooting in Biddeford, Maine, according to the state’s speaker of the house — just days after a federal immigration officer fatally shot a Mexican immigrant during a traffic stop in Houston, sparking mass protests and demands for transparency and accountability.

“A person was killed. ICE was involved. State Police and the Department of Public Safety are now on scene to gather details and would expect the FBI to investigate as well,” Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau said in a statement on Facebook. “These are the details that I have at this time. I will provide further updates, as they are relayed to me.”

CNN has reached out to Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security for comment.

I found this video of the scene, and you can see bullet holes in the windshield of the vehicle. Which tells me that the suspect was likely trying to use their car as a weapon to harm agents, or something along those lines.

I’ll update with more when I get it.

UPDATE:

Via Portland Press Herald:

Lucas Scott, 18, of Wells said he was driving through the intersection of Hill and Pool streets on Monday morning when he saw unmarked vehicles and flashing blue lights.

He said there were people in green vests who appeared to be U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

As he turned to look at the commotion, Scott said he saw an agent with their weapon drawn, yelling at a driver who appeared to move their vehicle toward the officer.

“The car was put into drive and was trying to hit the ICE officer,” Scott said.

The agent then fired about four shots, Scott said.

“I just heard the popping, but I did see him draw his gun,” Scott said.
