Newsweek columnist Michelle Goldberg doesn’t like that Ann Romney would talk about motherhood in terms of royalty. First, here’s comment in question from Ann Romney’s mother’s day column (via AIM):
Women wear many hats in their lives. Daughter, sister, student, breadwinner. But no matter where we are or what we’re doing, one hat that moms never take off is the crown of motherhood.
For whatever reason that comment creeped Michelle Goldberg out enough to suggest that it reminds her of Stalin and Hitler giving out crosses or something.
