A GOP mega-donor wants to save Twitter by forcing out ‘woke’ CEO Jack Dorsey [Updated]

Exciting news for those sick of the woke crap on twitter – a GOP mega-donor is trying to oust Jack Dorsey and he’s bought a large stake in the company to do it. Libs are freaking out over it:

From the Guardian:

A major Republican donor has purchased a stake in Twitter and is reportedly seeking to oust its chief executive, Jack Dorsey.

Bloomberg News first reported that Elliott Management has taken a “sizable stake” and “and plans to push for changes at the social media company, including replacing Dorsey”.

Paul Singer, the billionaire founder of Elliott Management, is a Republican mega-donor who opposed Donald Trump during the real-estate magnate’s run for the presidential nomination but has since come onside.

After a White House visit in February 2017, Trump said Singer “was very much involved with the anti-Trump or, as they say, ‘Never Trump’, and Paul just left, and he’s given us his total support and it’s all about unification”.

I don’t know if we should get too riled up though. Dude is a businessman. He clearly sees some value in Twitter that he thinks is being undermined by the current woke leadership. That won’t keep liberals from engaging in the stupidest conspiracy theories, of course. Here’s more:

News of the Elliott stake saw Twitter’s share price rise on Friday, during general market slides in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak.

Elliott Management is an activist investor, which means it regularly pushes for change in companies in which it buys shares.

Singer has even taken on whole countries: in 2016, after a relentless campaign, he secured a partial repayment of debts by Argentina, arising from its financial collapse in the early 2000s.

Interesting. Hopefully they’ll institute free speech changes on Twitter instead of trying to please the left with selective application of their rules…

Important UPDATE!!

OK, so we made a mistake. This guy is NOT a Trump friendly investor. He has actually been anti-Trump, but a Republican donor.

SO, my mistake was going by the exaggerated reactions from the left about Singer. They are freaking out because to them, of course, all Republicans are evil, and they’re all Trump sycophants, and they make no distinction at all between the two:

So, we apologize for the mistake. We have corrected the headline to reflect that Singer is a GOP donor, not a Trump guy. But, this still means that there might be positive changes for free speech on Twitter ahead.
