Ricky Gervais started out with a joke about Felicity Huffman going to jail over the cheating scandal and escalated from there, in a monologue at the Golden Globes that tore Hollywood a new one. But in a funny way.

I just want to be clear. This is funny, it’s at their expense, they richly deserve some peg demotion, but it IS just a comedy routine. That’s the whole point. If you take it too seriously then the argument “take a joke” doesn’t really hold any water, does it?
Still, they SOOOOOOOOOOO deserve what happens here. And it is, as Caleb Hull put it, absolutely SAVAGE.
“In this room are some of the most important TV and film executives int eh world. People from every background. But they all have one thing in common. They’re all terrified of Ronan Farrow,” said Gervais, which is obviously a reference to the #MeToo scandals. “He’s coming for ya. He’s coming for ya.”
