Adam Schiff admitted yesterday that the House Intel Committee, which he chairs, is doing real time oversight of Trump’s response to the coronavirus:
NY POST – House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff says his committee, along with others, is conducting “real-time oversight” of the White House’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are right now going through our intelligence holdings. What did the intelligence community make us aware of at the end of last year or earlier this year? Other committees are doing like analyses,” Schiff (D-Calif.) told MSNBC’s “AM Joy” on Sunday.
While Schiff pledged that the 9/11-style commission he and his fellow California Democrats — including Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris — called for would be bipartisan, the former impeachment manager zeroed in on the Trump administration’s missed warning signs to address the virus.
“It is very important, I think, in reviewing the intelligence component to this to realize the intelligence piece is just one piece of the warnings coming to the administration. A lot of those warnings were in the public domain. They came from public health organizations, like WHO or CDC or his own National Security Council, and ignored those warnings.”
It is so predictable Schiff would be using his committee to do “real time oversight” of Trump’s response to the pandemic. And he says others are doing it too. Let me guess, Maxine Waters?
As I’ve said before Democrats see this pandemic as their last, best hope at destroying Trump before the election. This is all they have left and they are going to try and pin as many deaths as they can on Trump’s hands, painting him as a blustering incompetent who cared more about his image or his business than he did people’s lives.
And it will all be manufactured baloney. So far Trump and his team have done about as good a job as you can expect trying to meet the demands of this pandemic. And big Democratic governors, including Cuomo and Newsom, are saying so, praising Trump for his administration’s response to the needs of their states. Democrats are going to be hardpressed to convince the American people otherwise.
