Afghan interpreter and wife killed in airport bombing as Marine was trying to get them through the gate

I bring you another horrible story tonight of an Afghan interpreter and his wife, killed in the bomb blast yesterday as they were being pulled through the gate by a Marine for passage out of Afghanistan:

There was another Marine, Andrew Darlington, working from here in the states to get Obeid and his wife to the gate to try and get them out of Kabul. Darlington had worked with Obeid when he served in Afghanistan. Darlington was pushing them hard to get to the gate, telling them this was their best, if not only opportunity to get to safety. They had just flashed a sign to the Marines at the airport and one Marine, a friend of Darlington, was pulling Obeid through the gate when the bomb went off.

Obeid and his wife had their to young children there, but they were a distance away with his brother and survived. Watch the video for more…
