Alec Baldwin claims he didn’t pull the trigger in killing of Halyna Hutchins

I don’t know if this is editing or if Alec Baldwin truly said this, but it appears he’s claiming that he didn’t pull the trigger on the gun in his hand that fired a live round and killed Halyna Hutchins.

Here’s a transcript of what was said in the interview regarding pulling the trigger:

STEPHANOPOULOS: You’ve described it as a one in a trillion shot and the gun was in your hand. How do you come to terms with that? It wasn’t in the script for the trigger to be pulled.

BALDWIN: Well the trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So you never pulled the trigger?

BALDWIN: No no no no. I would never point a gun at anybody and pull the trigger at them. Never.

STEPHANOPOULOS: What did you think happened?

I’m sorry, but that makes zero sense. A gun doesn’t magically fire a live bullet without pulling the trigger. It just doesn’t happen.

Without seeing the full interview, I don’t know what else he said. But if this is it right here and he sticks with it, then it sounds like he’s lying to protect himself legally or something. I mean, what else could it be? A gun doesn’t shoot itself!!!
