And then there were 23!

Up to this point 22 Democrats have entered the race to run for president.

Here’s the list:

  • Michael Bennet (D)
  • Joe Biden (D)
  • Cory Booker (D)
  • Pete Buttigieg (D)
  • Julián Castro (D)
  • John Delaney (D)
  • Tulsi Gabbard (D)
  • Kirsten Gillibrand (D)
  • Mike Gravel (D)
  • Kamala Harris (D)
  • John Hickenlooper (D)
  • Jay Inslee (D)
  • Amy Klobuchar (D)
  • Wayne Messam (D)
  • Seth Moulton (D)
  • Beto O’Rourke (D)
  • Tim Ryan (D)
  • Bernie Sanders (I)
  • Eric Swalwell (D)
  • Elizabeth Warren (D)
  • Marianne Williamson (D)
  • Andrew Yang (D)

Right now it looks like Joe Biden is the front runner of the bunch, but give him a chance to stick his foot in his mouth a few times. It’s only May 2019.

Today another Democrat has stepped into the race for president, to bring the official number to 23:

Montana Gov. Steve Bullock (D) said Tuesday he will join the already-crowded race for the White House with an overt appeal to voters who are most desperate to kick President Trump out of office.

In a video posted online Tuesday morning, Bullock painted himself as the most electable candidate in the field, and the only one who had won statewide office three times at the same time Republican presidential nominees carried his state.

“As a Democratic governor of a state Trump won by 20 points, I don’t have the luxury of just talking to people who agree with me,” Bullock said in the video. “We need to defeat Donald Trump in 2020, and defeat the corrupt system that lets campaign money drown out the people’s voice.”

There are still others who haven’t announced like commie Mayor De Blasio. He’s expected to announce soon, and then there will be 24…

    1. The number is down to one – Michelle Obama, using stalking horse Beto O’Rourke to win super-delegates without facing a primary.

  1. The damned MSM must be having fits while trying to figure out how to hold debates. Of course, disgusting CNN has been giving all these reprobates a Town Hall-sort of forum but hopefully things will remain cloudy overall for these wannabe WH squatters.

  2. They’re popping up every where, like weeds. I don’t even know who some of these candidates are. So the radical left don’t want Biden, but yet he’s the one leading. With all the attacks against him, so far has not made a dent. If they can’t consolidate behind a candidate, it’ll be Biden, a cisgender, white man.

    1. The way I see it, Obama was the reason that Trump was elected. Biden, by association, represents everything that the voters rejected last time. So if they think he has a shot, they may be in for a surprise.

  3. This makes me so happy! The more they water down the pool of candidates, the less attention anyone who might actually prove to be a challenge, will get.

  4. Not one of these is qualified or should be taken seriously. Further demeaning the office of POTUS. Nothing means anything anymore! Disheartening!

  5. 23 communist fools that hate the Country that has made most of them very rich, bunch of clowns :facepalmg:

  6. The President is making it really tough for Yang to get too the center of the Stage for debates

Well, I mostly like what I’m hearing so far sir (though that last part is a little bit catnip for the lofos, isn’t it).

    Now, about your policy positions.

  8. Two more and they will have a roster of 25 to replace all the injured New York Yankee. Can you steal bases and raise taxes at the same time.

    1. Got it in 3.

Oprah vs Trump in a binary choice election where merit doesn’t matter. That’s the America that Americans want. Now give me a barca lounger, a netflix subscription, and a big gulp and leave me to what’s important.

  13. This is a circus but that’s okay………..the more the merrier. They’re not going to win anyway. By the time all of the investigations are done the Dems will be fortunate to get 23 votes, one for each candidate.

  14. If the sole reason you’re running is to “kick Trump out of office” then you shouldn’t run. What can you bring to the country except a “not Trump” mentality? The left ran on “Not Bush” in the past and it gave the a “savior” who had nothing to offer. I guess round two of that sounds good to them.

  15. Beto is getting used as a non-primary stalking horse for Michelle Obama. Out collecting super-delegate votes on the stealth. Knowing the mess the DNC nonmination process will find itself in.

Michelle Obama then emerges as the Savior Candidate by super-delegate acclaim, never having had to face a primary.

Public exposure to Michelle Obama reminds us why we don’t want 4 more years of Obama preening, scolding and being downright annoying. So they pull her out of the shambles of the Beto O’Rourke campaign who silently harvested super-delegate commitments on a wink and a handshake.

The fix is in. While they keep sending Michelle Obama out on “book tours” and buying up large quantities of her unreadable book just to create the aura of “naitonal popularity”. Watch for continued increase in Michelle Obama exposure in MSM and popular media.

    1. Man, that’s scary. She was at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on her book tour. I don’t know how many were there, but to have it in an arena is scary that she could draw a crowd like that.

  19. There are actually 244 people who have filed with the FEC to run for President as a Democrat this cycle. And 16 from the Green Party. And 5 communists. https://ballotpedia.org/List_of_registered_2020_presidential_candidates

Someone should write spotlight articles on some of these extreme outlier folks. It would be fun. For example, Sheila “Samm” Tittle from New Mexico is running for her 3rd straight time, this time as a Dem. She received 2,571 votes in 2012, but got only 14 votes in 2016. What makes Samm tick? What’s her motivation to try it a 3rd time?

  21. Theater of the absurd. So many have to be in it for money because they have no chance at all. Or is it pride? Delaney, Gravel, Messam, Moulton, Williamson – nobody knows who they are without googling them; they won’t raise much money if at all; and there’s no way they’ll end up on a debate stage.

    1. Some may want to spread a message, some may actually think they can beat Trump, and some may act as spoilers to spread the voting pool so that there isn’t an actual challenger against Biden.
