Another city in California has now voted to join Trump’s lawsuit against California’s sanctuary state status:
10 NEWS – City leaders voted Wednesday night to support the federal lawsuit against California’s sanctuary laws.
The Escondido City Council voted 4-1in favor of backing the litigation.
In response to the discussion, immigrant communities in Escondido believe their leaders are out of touch.
The city council meeting was heated, however there was one legal immigrant whose testimony stood out:
Escondido man: "I came to this country 45 years ago with me and my mother. Okay? 45 years ago we were not offered sanctuary... We were told you have to be an American citizen and here's what you have to do - and we did it." https://t.co/SUMq7DO1Mu pic.twitter.com/Py3fUroOxp

Exactly right.
And the mayor, I think, would agree with him:
Escondido Mayor Sam Abed, on the other hand, believes coordination with local authorities and ICE is critical to keeping Escondido safe. He believes that California’s sanctuary laws place citizens in danger.
“I am proud immigrant who came to U.S. and I believe in the rule of law. My number one goal is to make Escondido a safe city,” said Abed.
That’s what it’s all about, safety. California would rather endanger citizens for the sake of illegal immigration, and it’s good to see another city standing up against them.
