Anti-Trumpers call for BOYCOTT of Home Depot because founder is donating to Trump’s reelection, but here’s why it’s beyond STUPID

Anti-Trumpers on social media are suddenly calling for a boycott of Home Depot because one of the company’s founders has said he will donate to Trump’s reelection campaign.

They are livid!

USA TODAY – Shoppers have taken to Twitter and other social media platforms to call for a boycott of Home Depot following news that one of its founders will back Donald Trump’s bid for a second term in the White House.

In an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bernie Marcus said that he intends to support Trump’s re-election campaign, saying that while the president “sucks” at communication, his impact on employment and aggressive stances toward China and Iran have been positive.

Many on Twitter appeared to disagree.

“Well, @HomeDepot won’t be getting any of my home renovation dollars in the future. All of our appliances are getting into replacement age and kitchen and bathroom renos are in the plans” went one tweet.

“Time to NEVER SHOP at Home Depot,” tweeted another.

The company responded this way…

In a statement, the retailer said, “Bernie retired from The Home Depot more than 15 years ago and isn’t speaking on behalf of the company. In fact, as a standard practice, the company does not endorse Presidential candidates.”

Bernie Marcus is 90 years old and doesn’t even work there anymore. But it doesn’t matter. Nitwit anti-Trumpers will try and make Home Depot suffer anyway.

And as Jenny Beth Martin points out on Twitter, one of the other co-founders (Arthur Blank) gives more to Democrats:

Martin also notes that Bernie is donating 90% of his wealth to charity, but Democrats are upset about a measly 7 million out of his billions going to Trump’s reelection campaign?

  1. Are they going to boycott the Atlanta Aquarium too? That one at least has Bernie active in it.

  2. Try shopping at your local family-owned hardware store or lumber yard. You’ll get good advice, service, and support your neighbors.

  3. So what will these people do when their moms need supplies to fix the basements that they live in?

  4. This isn’t about HD. This is about leftist terrorists sending a message to anyone with a business that dares to come out in support of Trump.

    1. It’s not even Trump. It’s anything Right leaning, religious, family values, heck, anything that isn’t Leftist.

  5. Half of them don’t work or know how to fix anything or know where or what Home Depot is…

    1. More than half I dare say. The hardcore DNC voters looking for a hand-out are not picking up a hammer.

    2. You got that right – they rely on public housing and since they can’t use their food stamp cards at home depot, no need to go in there. Only people who work for their money would shop at home depot.

  6. What do leftists re Home Depot have in common with Trumpers re Nike?

Haha, you thought I was going to say that they’re impotent boycotters, shaking their fists at the sky.

Nope. The answer is that they’re progressives.

  7. I don’t know about that communication comment. No, Trump is not an elegant speaker (although he did great on July 4th speech). But I dare anyone to get their brand as much free advertising as Trump has–even before he ran for president!

    1. His speech on D-Day in France was an excellent speech. Pretty freaking awesome. He did those fellas justice.

  8. Let them boycott. They won’t get very far because people aren’t going to stop shopping there.

    1. My decision to go to Home Depot vs Lowes depends entirely on which one is closest to me at the moment I have to go there.

  9. …….Time to NEVER SHOP at Home Depot,” tweeted another.

They sure get the panties twisted easily

  12. When the always offended and temper tantrum brigade gets riled up it’s often amusing to see them screw themselves. In this case many are saying they will now go to Lowes – which gives a lot more of it’s money to the right than to the left.

I go to Lowes all the time. It’s closer.

  14. I rue the day that Central Hardware came along as possibly one of the first big box hardware stores, beginning the trend of small, family-run, stores of that kind drying up and going away. Regardless of my disdain for big box, the left would attack a child’s lemonade stand if the operator expressed or uttered any type of right leaning philosophies/feelings… yet Conservatives are the Fascists… riiiiiight. F’ the Lefties.

  15. Oh please let it be true, no more snowflakes while I shop in Home Depot. :clapping:

  16. A lot of good a liberal boycott would do. Most liberals hire a contractor to do minor work around their home. Conservatives will purchase more at Home Depot for home renovation needs.

    1. Exactly. Over 30% of millennials still live at home with their parents and many more work low paying service industry jobs because they have a very expensive degree in lesbian women’s studies, Black Lives Matter, basket weaving or some other goofy social justice carp that doesn’t pay anything. A good chunk of them vote liberal Democrat because life is all about “feelings” and not concrete real world issues like getting a real job and not being a financial burden on everyone else. Living off the hard earned work of one’s parents or guardians (and eventually other members of society) makes them parasites. For the most part they are not doing renovations of any kind so boycotting places like Home Depot might make them “feel” righteous but will in all probability do nothing to HD’s bottom line.

      1. Not to be crass, but I will be, but you can watch a few free porn movies online and get almost the same kind of degree in lesbian women’s studies.

  18. Twitter has it’s own crowd of anti-Americans. They immediately pounce on any and all conservatives that air public support of anything Trump.

    BWAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!

They’re so dumb they can’t even lead a one-car parade.

  23. So what will these people do when their moms need supplies to fix the basements that they live in?

    1. @zombiewoof If they live in the Midwest, they can shave big monkeys at Menards.

  27. LOL, excuse me but I pretty much don’t think snowflakes are the majority customers at Home Depot. First they’d have to have a job that enables them to live on their own with broken things they must fix – not the landlord, not the daddy. Second, they think all of everything is disposable and replaceable. Third, their go to for anything and everything is Amazon. I doubt they even know where to find a Home Depot nor how to navigate it if they did.

  28. Today went to Home Depot, to Lowe’s, to Walmart, back to Lowe’s, then to Pizza Hut and lastly to pick up a salad and iced tea at Chick-Fil-A. An All-American MAGA day!

  29. As long as they aren’t raising their prices, if they are cheaper then Lowe’s then I’ll shop there. If Lowe’s is cheaper then I’m shopping there. The left boycotts are getting old. #FreeMarket

    1. There are two Home Depot stores on my way to the nearest Lowe’s. So where do you think I’m going to go to get my supplies?

  33. He could make amends by donating all of his billions to the Clinton Foundation…AKA the Bill Clinton (s)Lush Fund.

  34. Co-founder of Home Depot Arthur Blank owns the Atlanta Falcons. He needs to spending his gazillions on getting us a Super Bowl winning team not politics. 😉

    1. Are you talking about Matt Ryan?

Since politics is now a part of everything, I’d rather football be taken out of that conversation all together, around the board. 🙂

  35. “while the president “sucks” at communication, his impact on employment and aggressive stances toward China and Iran have been positive.”

    Pretty much my opinion also.

  36. Lol how many anti trumpers know how to do home repair and DIY projects?!?! Lol the owner is shaking in his boots

      1. I wouldn’t be too quick to spike that football, given that the Trumpers definition of “home” involves a trailer in a park.
