When radical socialists don’t like something being in their way, they want to destroy it. In this case, it’s AOC going after the parliamentarian AGAIN over Biden’s infrastructure bill containing a path to citizenship for illegals:
The issue underscoring AOC’s demand is the process known as budget reconciliation. In order for Biden’s disastrous infrastructure bill to get passed it must go through budget reconciliation in the Senate. Part of the reconciliation process is the ‘Byrd Rule’ process, which “requires any policy changes made through reconciliation to have more than a “merely incidental” impact on the budget, among other restrictions.” If something is ‘merely incidental’ it can be struck from the bill by the parliamentarian when someone objects.
Democrats have shoved a full path to citizenship for illegals into the bill and knowing that it will be struck down, AOC is now demanding that the Senate override the parliamentarian’s coming decision.
Remember when the parliamentarian struck down the $15/hr minimum wage increase earlier this year out of the COVID relief bill? Democrats begged Kamala to override the parliamentarian and she refused. At the time AOC called for the parliamentarian to be overruled or fired, neither of which happened. Now she’s up to the same crap.
When the Supreme Court won’t rule the way Democrats want, they make plans to destroy it. When the Senate parliamentarian follows the rules and rejects non-budgetary items from their reconciliation bill, they want the parliamentarian overruled and/or fired.
