I’ve been avoiding this story all day…because it’s another AOC story and I know you guys get tired of seeing her so much. #metoo
But this one is a little different because it’s about her mother moving to Florida to escape the high taxes of New York state:
NY POST – The mother of soak-the-rich congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that she was forced to flee the Big Apple and move to Florida because the property taxes were so high.
“I was paying $10,000 a year in real estate taxes up north. I’m paying $600 a year in Florida. It’s stress-free down here,” Blanca Ocasio-Cortez told the Daily Mail from her home in Eustis, a town of less than 20,000 in central Florida north of Orlando.
The mother-of-two — who calls herself BOC — said she picked Eustis because a relative already lived there and right before Christmas 2016 she paid $87,000 for an 860-square-foot home on a quiet street that dead-ends at a cemetery.
A New York Times reporter that you’ve probably heard of, Maggie Haberman, tried to spin her AOC’s mom moving to Florida as a hit against Trump. But as Kerpen points out, that was before Trump’s time:

She moved to Florida before Trump was elected because New York taxes were obscene.

It is ironic that AOC’s own mother moved from a liberal to a republican state because of the burden of high taxes. You’d think there’d be a lesson in that for AOC about taxes and freedom.
But AOC is hellbent on turning America into Venezuela, so I guess she doesn’t learn lessons very well.
