AP asks: Why do terrorists behead French people? Then answers own question with: BECAUSE THEY DESERVE IT!

The Associated Press asked a question and answered it on Twitter and in an article on Saturday. And both the question and answer were on the very of malicious evil. But at the least, the nation of France should sue for slander.

“Why does France incite anger in the Muslim world?” they put in a tweet. Let’s focus on just the question for a second.

“Why does France” … this is setting the tone. It’s something FRANCE is doing, not something that’s being done to them.

“…incite anger …” Incite is either libelous or slanderous, whichever is worse. The connotation of “incite” isn’t that your innocent action unduly provokes some outrageously overreacting bad actor. The connotation is that you have done something deliberately or maliciously to incite and provoke.

“… in the Muslim word.” Notice they’ve spread this out to be, oh, about a billion people. It’s not “incites some” or “provokes extremists” it’s THE MUSLIM WORLD.

So already in the question they’ve established what the answer will be. FRANCE DID IT.

And of course, that is exactly what they answer.

“Its brutal colonial past, staunch secular policies and tough-talking president who is seen as insensitive toward the Muslim faith all play a role.”

Just unreal. Notice how, in THIS context “staunch secular policies” is somehow meanie-pants. But if it’s about, oh I don’t know, ABORTION in the United States, it’s the people of faith who are the baddies. Fascinating.

Twitter users let them have it — a result which we can only assume has a limited shelf life at the increasingly anti-free-thoughts Twitter.

Bari Weiss, who would know, nails the fig leaf AP uses here: “contextualizing.”

That’s a thing the press do when they want to make you the bad guy even though you aren’t. It’s rampant.

Okay fine, one more.

Seriously. Good point.

I didn’t think I should put this at the top of the post, but here’s my thoughts:
