Associated Press reporter Matt Lee went rounds today with State Department spokesman Ned Price in what was a ridiculous exchange.
I’m not kidding about the ridiculousness of it either, which you’ll understand when you watch it:
I’m not going to pain myself right now by trying to transcribe this. But suffice it to say that Matt Lee was asking for evidence that the Russians are in fact creating a video as a pretext for an invasion, and Ned Price tells Lee that him saying it is the evidence, even though he’s just making a claim.
Ned Price tells Lee that the State Department has declassified the evidence, and when Lee asks him where it is, Price claims he just said it. Lee tells him that’s just a ‘claim’ and not evidence, but Price continues to suggest his words are evidence.
It is an utterly silly and juvenile argument being made by Price and I can’t believe he has this job.
