While I’m not an Eagles fan, I have to appreciate this tweet from their quarterback Carson Wentz on a day like today at a time like now:
Freedom sometimes comes at a cost. Today, I just want to thank all of the brave men & women who have sacrificed so much to provide us w/ the freedoms we have in this country. Its often taken for granted and y’all don’t get the recognition you deserve. So thank you & God bless! pic.twitter.com/UhbemUxUUC

As you know, the NFL has just banned kneeling for the National Anthem and one of Wentz’s teammates has already come out against the ban.
Which makes this tweet even more meaningful.
But I’m sure Wentz wasn’t trying to make a political statement, he simply wanted to honor the fallen men and women of our armed services and thank our veterans for their service.
Such a classy dude.
As a Cowboys fan, it would really be easier on me if Wentz were an a-hole. But he’s definitely not so I must give him props.
