So according to Obama’s own spinmeister David Axelrod, the choice in the upcoming election will be “between an economy that produces a growing middle class and gives people a chance to get ahead and their kids a chance to get ahead, and an economy that continues down the road we are on, and everybody else is running faster and faster just to keep pace.”
Wait, what?
I guess Axelrod thinks it’s still October 2008 or something. It’s as if we’re supposed to forget that Obama has been President for almost four years now, with super-majorities in both houses of Congress for the first two years, plus control of the Senate for all four. He can keep blaming Bush if he wants, but nobody’s buying it anymore. It’s long past time to update the playbook, but he won’t.
