Bad idea? Sarah Palin to campaign for John McCain

From CNN:

Sarah Palin, McCain’s former running mate and perhaps the most powerful brand in Republican politics, will stump for McCain in Arizona on March 26 and 27, a Palin adviser told CNN. The presence of Palin – and the considerable crowds and media attention she will draw – might give pause to J.D. Hayworth, the former Republican congressman and radio host who opposes McCain’s position on illegal immigration and is mulling a Senate run of his own.

I’ve got very mixed emotions about this. First, let’s not ignore the fact that Sarah Palin was on the same ticket with McCain, and if she doesn’t support him on some level the media will have a field day trying to make hay out of it to further destroy her.

That said, this sounds like a bad idea. John McCain is a big government republican who supports Cap and Trade, believing that supporting it will somehow impact this ‘great problem’ of Global Warming. John McCain believes in amnesty for illegal aliens. John McCain’s entitlement plans during the 2008 campaign would have continued to increase the number of people who don’t pay taxes. In my opinion it’s a contradiction for her to espouse the opposite and yet stump for McCain.

I feel like she is doing this to protect herself from the media, which I can appreciate. But we need to get these big government republicans out of office. Besides, can’t she just give her support in other ways…like from her facebook page?
