Ben Sasse gives EPIC speech on why Supreme Court nomination hearings don’t work

Ben Sasse gave an epic speech today, laying out for those in the Supreme Court nomination hearing and for those watching around America what the true problems are when it comes to nomination hearings, ie. why they don’t work. And it has everything to do with a misunderstanding of the constitution and how our three branches of government are supposed to work.

I love the line where Sasse points out that these nomination hearings should be an opportunity to go back and do “School House Rock” civics for our kids, explaining to them how a bill becomes law and what the job is of both Article II and Article III.

He then goes into his four points, but they start with a weakened executive branch delegating more and more power to the executive branch by both parties.
