Bernie Marcus DROPS THE MIC with response to liberals over boycott of Home Depot

Bernie Marcus responded this week to the liberal boycott of Home Depot over his mere mention of supporting Trump’s reelection campaign, and it’s awesome:

I woke up this morning thinking it was going to be another great day. I’ve been celebrating with friends, family and the community since I turned 90. I’ve told you about the gracious gift of $117 million that was collected and given in my honor to four charities that mean a lot to me. All that happiness blew up because I said in a newspaper interview that I have supported and will continue to support Donald Trump.

Boom!

Negative stories… vicious threats, without cause, to boycott the company that has enabled my foundation to give billions to support autism, medical research, education, heart and neurological issues like stroke, and to help our veterans. The company that I retired from in 2002 and have not had a business relationship with in almost 20 years. A company that has employed more than a half-million people. The people who work there are affiliated with both political parties or no party at all. They are of all religions and all colors and backgrounds. Why would people want to hurt them?

All because I give my voice and some of my money to our President. Am I in China? Argentina? Russia? That’s what it feels like to me.

It saddens me that our country has come to this, where I, as a private citizen, cannot express my feelings. It angers me and it saddens me, but it sure as hell is not going to stop me. If you thought it would, you’ve got the wrong guy.

In the next ten years, God willing, I will accomplish more to save this world than my critics will do even if they had forty lifetimes.

This is 90-year-old Bernie Marcus spraying these angry liberals with fire and I love it.

He points out their blatant hypocrisy as well as their derangement over Trump, essentially calling them un-American. And he won’t back down, which is my favorite part.

Well done Bernie Marcus. Well done.

  1. If Trump supporters/conservatives could be readily identifiable by a distinctive color, say purple, we’d all be treated like blacks under Jim Crow!

  2. Wearing a MAGA cap gets you the same treatment as Jews got in early Hitler’s Germany, when they were forced to wear the Yellow Star!

  3. Okay, let’s try this again:

I remember I wasn’t shopping at Home Depot because of their support for “Pride”. I found an article, dated in 2011 from LifeSiteNews about the AFA calling for a boycott of the company because of their support.

To avoid getting my comment marked as ‘spam’ again, just go to LifeSiteNews, the American Family Association or any search engine and search “home depot supports lgbt” and you’ll see the news stories about HD’s support for “Pride”.

    1. Home Depot was the main sponsor for “Gay Pride” parades for a long time. That’s why I still don’t shop there.

  4. I tried to post a comment where I expressed my view that I wasn’t shopping at Home Depot because of their very vocal support for “Pride”. I even provided a link to LifeSiteNews and it was marked at ‘spam’ which is was not.

      1. The one with the link to LifeSiteNews? I don’t see it. I had just finished editing it and when I posted it again, it was immediately marked as spam. I’ve refreshed twice to see but it is gone now.

    1. When they changed back from WordPress to Discus some strange things happened to some of us. For most it was a seamless change – for others not so much.

  5. Damn shame when the haters try to hurt someone. Bravo to him for how he handled this.

  6. Why would people want to hurt them?

Because nobody thinks past the immediacy of their own impulses in this nation anymore.

Nobody thinks period. We’ve bred that out of our culture.

Picture a wide-eyed chest-heaving enraged American standing fists and jaw clenched over the dead body of Santa Claus because he said (or failed to say, if you want to flip the coin) “Merry Christmas.” He doesn’t care if the kiddies get their gifts now or forever more. That “injustice” had to be dealt with, with extreme prejudice, right now.

That’s how people operate now. Right and left. Critical thinking is dead in America. It’s all just outrage. Perpetual, unthinking, subjective outrage.

    1. Loved your comment about. We’re bred that out of our culture.Had not heard it explained that way before, however so true, but can I say one thing,Don’t blame me.

  7. You know who used boycotts to bankrupt Jews in Germany? Yep… this is another fascist tactic and we need to educate people what’s going on or the fascists will win.

      1. Can you imagine the left attacking a 90 year old wonderful man like Mr.Marcus.I can’t.

        1. I know. Nothing is off limits with the left. But sounds like he handles himself just fine.

      2. If you want to stop by the house,I bought some extras the last time I was at Home Depot.I’ll give you a couple

  9. Dear Mr. Marcus,
There’s another Bernie {running for president} that thinks you’re evil because of your billions and wants all your money. Tell me to go to hell while you’re at it.
    Best regards, Conservative Americans

  10. Liberals call us Nazis but they are literally turning America into Nazi Germany. They beat up journalists with ANTIFA thugs, complete censorship online, and you can’t even say ONE nice thing about a sitting president without getting boycotted, fired or your house/car/children attacked

  11. I remember not shopping at Home Depot because of their vocal support for the Lettuce Greens Broccoli Tomato Swarm some years ago. I don’t know if Mr. Marcus was behind that but I do know I was avoiding Home Depot like a plague because of their support for “equality”.

Yes, they did support the Lettuce Greens Broccoli Tomato Swarm, per this article in LifeSiteNews: Home Depot pledges to continue support for gay agenda despite massive petition/boycott. Granted, this article is dated 2011 but it wouldn’t surprise me if they still support “equality”.

  12. Meh, don’t worry about it. Most of the lefties that are threatening boycotts have never picked up a hand tool in their sad pathetic lives and I don’t think they’re going to start any time soon.

    1. Their boycott of Chic fil A helped them become the third largest fast food franchise in the country.

    2. When i think of lefties and the term “hand tool”, I don’t think of home improvement projects. Just saying. Sorry.

    3. Is a tire iron a hand tool?
If so then you may be incorrect in your assertion they have never picked up something of that nature.
Antifa kit always includes such devices for all “peaceful” demonstrations.

    4. His story of a lifetime of hard work, success and charity is lost on people whose hero is Bernie Sanders, who never held a job until he was 45….losers!!!

      1. …and I thought I was the one losing my marbles :o) LOL You’re allowed one mishtake for the day!

          1. I think the “wrong” Bernie is the right Bernie. He loves America. He loves our Veterans. He appreciates all the people who have ever worked for him. I could go on…

          2. I think the “wrong” Bernie is the right Bernie. He loves America. He loves our Veterans. He appreciates all the people who have ever worked for him. I could go on…

      2. …and I thought I was the one losing my marbles :o) LOL You’re allowed one mishtake for the day!

      3. Once upon a time I had to pick up my youngest at elementary school but when asked for my child’s name from the crossing lady I gave her my oldest child’s name. That was a long time ago. But I still catch a rash for it once in a while.

        1. lol, when I used to have to break up a sibling scuffle when my kids were little I’d call their names but it would be all mixed up , they would crack up laughing, fight over 🙂

    1. Bernie Sander, and Bernie Marcus. Headline is Bernie Sander drops the mic, Http is Bernie Marcus……….

      1. On my screen too. I guess it was wrong earlier on. And a Good Morning to you Doc – by the way this is Kenoshamarge who is suddenly shown by her actual name these days. No idea why. But good morning anyway.

          1. I missed the vote so wasn’t aware until I logged on what was going on. Then my name was a screwed up so I was confused. Tried fixing and all I seemed to do was make it worse. Now it’s back to normal and I have stopped whining about it.

          1. I called my “tech” guy and he finally got it straightened out. Whew. So I’m all done whining about it.

After I got used to it I actually preferred the WordPress but this is fine too so long as I get my username and avatar.

  14. Wow, Bernie Marcus is spot on ! The left is going crazy , just wish they would all fall off a steep mountain in the name of humanity.

We always shop at Home Depot and will continue to do so.

    1. We moved a few years ago so we only have Home Depot or Menards close to us. I like both of those companies. (Though I do have a bit of a problem with HD being a staging area for day laborers who are mostly illegals). If I can’t get what I want from one I know we can get it at another. We used to shop Lowe’s where we used to live but hubs got upset with them when in order to get a veteran’s discount they had to sign him up for a robot-call advertising list before they’d give it to him. Home Depot doesn’t do that. Just show VA ID, active duty ID or retired military ID and boom it’s done.

      1. We gave up on Lowe’s awhile back because they never had an item advertised in stock. Thumbs down to them on the Veterans issue.

    2. I like H.D., but I have to drive fifteen miles to their nearest facility. Lowes is only eight miles away in the other direction and there far less stop signs and lights to get there. I’m not a big fan of Lowes either. We do have a local hardware and lumber yard that I prefer to work with.

    3. “…just wish they would all fall off a steep mountain in the name of humanity.”

Maybe we could inlist Paul Ryan to help with that :o)

    4. Hubby and I are going to have to make a 90 mile one way trip to shop at Home Depot and eat at Chick-fil-A!! But, we are both allergic to driving in that city, do it could be a while!!!

  15. The knee-jerk calls for boycotts from the Left (Home Depot) and Right (Nike, the NFL, etc.) are absurd. There is no compelling reason that consumers should undercut their own interests to appease baseless, if not extreme demands. Consumers should focus on what best serves their interests, namely the value they receive in exchange for their purchases.

    1. It as nothing to do with them, and everything to do with that cathartic feeling of self-righteousness one gets when they “take a stand” that doesn’t actually require any meaningful effort.

    2. I’m boycotting Jewel Foods (Da Jewels if you’re a Chicagoan) because of their very vocal support for the Pride Parade. It’s a personal choice that I make because I find them disgusting. My lack of support won’t hurt them one iota, but one has to draw a line and take a stand somewhere.

      1. One can make such personal choices as one desires. That’s different from the growing calls for boycotts being made by politicized movements.

        1. Which, btw, if you want to really put your money where your mouth is – sell your stock in those companies, if you’re that pissed at them.

Few people do that. “I’m not gunna buy a hammer from you, but that’s not going to stop me from enjoying the dividends from your next stock split.”

        1. My wife is as non political as they come, but she doesn’t like to shop at Target. I won’t give them a penny. I won’t attend or support in any way any gay pride or LGBT event. I find it appalling to see commercials showing gay couples.

          1. Hey Conserv, I never cared for Target either but them when they pulled their sick stunt I was more than glad to be done with them.

    3. It’s America. Heard of it? Land of the free? Free to buy what they wish? Free markets, heard of that?

    4. It as nothing to do with them, and everything to do with that cathartic feeling of self-righteousness one gets when they “take a stand” that doesn’t actually require any meaningful effort.

  16. Bernie,
You didn’t create that wealth. /S

Progressives do not want freedom, they want to control you from cradle to grave.

      1. In the military, sure. That’s a minority. Obviously speaking in generalities. Is AT rubbing off on you?

  17. Dear Mr. Marcus,
There’s another Bernie {running for president} that thinks you’re evil because of your billions and wants all your money. Tell me to go to hell while you’re at it.

  19. Meh, don’t worry about it. Most of the lefties that are threatening boycotts have never picked up a hand tool in their sad pathetic lives and I don’t think they’re going to start any time soon.
