Bernie Sanders announces he may be dropping out soon…

After the drubbing Bernie took last night, he’s now announcing that he’s assessing his campaign, which his just code speak for he’s about to drop out:

NY POST – Bernie Sanders will “assess” his bid for the White House after getting thumped by Joe Biden in the latest round of primaries, his campaign manager said Wednesday.

“The next primary contest is at least three weeks away,” campaign manager Faiz Shakir said in a statement.

“Sen. Sanders is going to be having conversations with supporters to assess his campaign,” he added.

“In the immediate term, however, he is focused on the government response to the coronavirus outbreak and ensuring we will take care of the working people and the most vulnerable.”

The 80-year-old self-described socialist is yet to make a statement after he drubbing in Florida, Illinois and Arizona on Tuesday where Biden pulled away with an enormous delegate lead — 1,147 to 861.

Sanders is facing mounting pressure to swiftly exit the race amid a deadly coronavirus pandemic.

As we suggested last night, it’s time for Bernie to drop out. The debate obviously didn’t help him and even if Ohio had voted yesterday, Biden would have swept that one too by just as much as the other states.

As Trump noted in his tweet this morning, the DNC really wants to keep the Bernie Bros on their side because they’ll need them in November. So they must be hoping for a graceful exit by Sanders with no accusations of wrongdoing by the DNC or others. But this is the second time Sanders has been beaten by the establishment candidate and I’m sure his voters are angry and/or disillusioned with the Democratic Party. And of course Trump wants to stoke that divide as it will help him win in November. The big question is if the anti-Trump anger is enough to drive the Bernie Bros to the polls in support for Biden.
