The ‘We the People’ portion of the White House website lets users start public petitions, and it has been used for good and for bad over time. But maybe the best use EVER is the petition there right now to put Alex Jones in the briefing room, right next to CNN’s Jim Acosta.
It is almost literally the best idea ever.
“Alex Jones‘ first amendment rights are being violated everyday he does not have White House press credentials,” reads the intro. “THIS IS AMERICA! Let Alex Jones have press credentials and a permanent seat next to Jim Acosta!”
The petition was started on November 17, just ten days after Acosta’s credentials were temporarily revoked, on Saturday of the week his credentials were restored.
I don’t care who you are, putting Jones and Acosta together is hilarious, and probably the best match ever. We’re talking peas in a fake news pod, y’all.
Frankly, this is an idea whose time has come.
