The Biden administration is rearing it’s anti-Israeli head by claiming to be ‘deeply troubled’ by Israel’s response to terror attacks on their citizens.
According to the Associated press, Netanyahu’s government “agreed to legalize nine settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank, saying the move was a response to recent Palestinian violence.”
Addressing the Cabinet on Sunday, Netanyahu said that the “appropriate response to terror is strike it with force and further deepen our roots in our land.” He said the government would discuss an “even broader operation against the perpetrators of terrorism” in the occupied West Bank and east Jerusalem.
This decision came after “a Palestinian man careened his car into a Jerusalem bus stop, killing three Israelis, including two young brothers, and injuring several others.”
But the Biden administration isn’t happy with this move by Netanyahu. His state department, according to Politico, is publicly condemning this legalization of nine settlements by Israel’s new government in the West Bank:
Administration officials said on Monday they were “troubled” and “concerned” by Israel’s settlement advancements over the weekend — the first sign of outward friction between the U.S. and Israel’s new far-right government.
“We are deeply troubled by Israel’s announcement that it will reportedly advance thousands of settlements and begin a process to retroactively legalize nine outposts in the West Bank that were previously illegal under Israeli law,” State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a press briefing on Monday. “Like previous administrations, we strongly oppose these unilateral measures, which exacerbate tensions, harm trusts between the parties, and undermine the prospects for a negotiated two-state solution.”
John Kirby, the National Security Council coordinator, also said his team was “deeply concerned” regarding the settlement decision in Israel, during a White House press briefing on Monday afternoon. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed his concern in a statement prior to his department’s briefing.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel agreed to legalize nine settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, The Associated Press reported. This action goes against the United States’ strong opposition to “any unilateral steps that exacerbate tensions,” Price said during the State Department briefing.
I would expect nothing less from the Biden administration than this idiotic response.
Netanyahu is absolutely right to refer to the West Bank as ‘our land’ and he’s well within his moral authority to legalize these settlements in response to vicious terror attacks.
Israel is surrounded by enemies who would love nothing more than to commit a genocide against the Jewish people, as evidenced by these continued terror attacks.
With all of its faults, Israel is the only real beacon of freedom in their part of the world and they deserve the unmitigated support of the US government, especially in these difficult times.
A two-state solution is nothing more than a fantasy and the Biden administration needs to face the facts. Just look at how Hamas, having their own ‘state’, continually attacks Israel with rockets. I’ve said for a long time that Israel needs to invade Gaza and take it back from these terrorists. It was a huge mistake to allow Hamas to have Gaza in the first place and Israelis have paid with their lives because of this terrible decision.
The truth is the Biden administration is very pro-Palestinian, just like the Obama administration. They hate Israel, especially with its new government, and it really shows when they side with the terrorists against Israel as it seeks to impose consequences for terror attacks.
