Biden again blames inflation on Putin today and here’s why he’s WRONG

Biden once again blamed Putin for his inflation woes today, saying that 70% of the inflation hike last month was all on Putin:

Biden claims: “What we saw in the most recent inflation data, last month about 70% of the increase in inflation was a consequence of Putin’s price hike because of the impact on gas and energy prices. I’m doing everything I can to bring down the price to address Putin’s price hike.”

Biden truly wants every American to believe that Putin is responsible for the high gas prices and overall inflation, but this just isn’t true.

Now look closely at what he says above as he reads the teleprompter: “last month about 70% of the increase in inflation…”.

Here’s what inflation looks like month over month for last year and this year:

Inflation increased last month by .6%, from 7.9% to 8.5%. According to what Biden says, .42% of that .6% is because of Putin.

Okay let’s just give him that for a second.

Inflation really began shooting up in March and April of last year and it has been going up steadily from 2.6% to 8.5%. If you take out Putin’s so-called price hike, you’re still left with 8.1% inflation for last month. That’s what belongs to Biden.

So is this really a ‘Putin price hike’ or a ‘Biden price hike’? Yeah, the number prove it’s definitely the latter.

Here’s a graphic from ABC News on just gas prices from before the war versus the war:

Gas prices have gone up $.60 since Putin invaded Ukraine. But since Biden has been president, gas prices have risen much more sharply at $1.34.

60 cents for Putin and 134 cents for Biden, and yet Biden is calling this the “Putin price hike”? Biden is selling nothing but lies.
