After seeing his disastrous social agenda blocked in the Senate, now Biden suddenly supports the nuclear option to get the federal takeover of elections bill passed in the name of so-called voting rights:
As soon as Muir says ‘protect voting rights’, Biden responds with YES, as if he’d just heard the magic phrase to wake him from his slumber.
What I find hilarious about this is that Biden still needs both Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema to get rid of the filibuster, something NEITHER of them are willing to support even on a temporary basis. They’ve both made this more than clear but I’m sure the White House will once again accuse Manchin of misleading them on it or something.
Also, don’t you love how the language works for Democrats? This is just a ‘carve out’ of the filibuster. What? No. It’s the nuclear option. Just because they want to do it for one bill and not for all of them doesn’t mean it’s something different. And, you know as well as I do if Democrats were able to get rid of the filibuster for one bill, they’d keep doing it over and over to pass Biden’s agenda.
