Some Christians have come out strongly against a new show to air on the Adult Swim channel about “Black Jesus,” who refers to himself as the biblical savior of mankind, but also passes out malt liquor, smokes pot, and curses. Of course, it’s being characterized as a racial criticism instead what the furor is really about – the insulting behavior ascribed to the character.

In fact a big majority of ‘Jet Magazine’ online readers responded to a poll on their website saying that the creators “should be ashamed,” as opposed to those saying it’s hilarious and “people are too sensitive.”

Jet has catered to the African American market since the 1950s, but I’m sure people will continue to say that it’s just racist white Christians who are offended by Jesus being portrayed as black, instead of the real reason we’re offended. Sign the petition here if you want to add your voice.
