Bill de Blasio denies “Blue Lives Matter” mural on NYC street, claims Black Lives Matter ‘transcends politics’

Bill de Blasio has apparently denied the request for the pro-police group to paint ‘Blue Lives Matter’ in front of the NYC police station, claiming that Black Lives Matter is special because it ‘transcends politics’:

NY POST – Mayor Bill de Blasio said Thursday that the Black Lives Matter movement “transcends any notion of politics,” as he defended allowing the words to be painted on streets across the city while not approving similar mural requests from groups like the pro-cop Blue Lives Matter.

“This is about something much bigger than any one group,” de Blasio said during his daily City Hall press briefing in response to a reporter’s question about whether he would green-light mural requests from groups like Blue Lives Matter and Women for America First.

“This is about righting a wrong and moving forward. So I think that’s the right approach,” Hizzoner said as he explained why he had “Black Lives Matter” painted in massive yellow letters on city streets, taking part in several of the painting processes.

“The original sin of the United States of America — slavery, and all of the effects over 400 years being brought out into the open in a new way and a chance for this country to get it right to address this problem to move forward and it’s summarized in the three words: Black Lives Matter,” he said.

The excuses these city officials make to justify their standing with an anti-American group never ceases to amaze me. And the fact that he claims it isn’t political is preposterous. Politics is the very reason he had it painted in front of Trump Tower!

In related news, a conservative women’s group is suing De Blasio for blocking them from painting their own mural:

A conservative women’s group sued Mayor de Blasio and the city Department of Transportation for allowing a Black Lives Matter mural to be painted in front of Trump Tower — but blocking them from doing a similar mural.

In the suit filed Thursday night in Manhattan federal court, Women for America First said they sent a letter to the mayor requesting permission to paint a mural of their slogan — “Engaging, Inspiring and Empowering Women to Make a Difference!” — on a roadway in Manhattan.

The group claims Hizzoner and the DOT are infringing on their First Amendment rights by not allowing them to paint a mural.

They’re asking a judge grant them a permit to do the mural and for attorneys fees to be repaid.

Good luck ladies, I hope you get your permit!
