Look, I’m going to admit that I like Bill Kristol. I really enjoy his podcast, I think he’s a very intelligent man who says many things worth listening to and considering.
But almost NONE of those things include what he says about Trump because the dude has kinda lost it:
The widespread playing of the national anthem before sports events began during World War II. The greatest generation, who fought so bravely in that war, grew up without benefit of this custom. Given that, and given how Trump has besmirched the practice, is it time to retire it?

Seriously dude c’mon.
I even agree some that Trump has politicized the topic just for the sake of his political agenda. But that doesn’t detract ONE BIT of my absolute rapture at being at an Buffalo Bills game and proudly standing and putting my hand over my heart when they play that amazing song. And I don’t think anything will ever ruin that for me.
But, Kristol sure is trying!!
By the way: I like the national anthem, I've always enjoyed singing it at ballgames and elsewhere, and I'm a particular fan of the under-appreciated fourth stanza. But Trump's demagoguery is so sickening that I think the question is a legitimate one.

No, you’re just letting your hatred of Trump bleed into your love of the normal course of life. Don’t let politics ruin your ability to enjoy life, folks.
