Bill Maher angered everybody by saying what most liberals think but aren’t dumb enough to say. This time he admitted that he wants the economy to crash, just to take out Trump.

Maher, along with his panel, discussed the success of the Trump administration’s growing economy, but remained skeptical about how long the prosperity will last.
“I feel like the bottom has to fall out at some point, and by the way, I’m hoping for it because I think one way you get rid of Trump is a crashing economy,” Maher said during the June 8 show. “So please, bring on the recession. Sorry if that hurts people but it’s either root for a recession, or you lose your democracy.”
John Heilemann, a journalist for NBC and host of Showtime’s political program “The Circus,” responded to Maher’s statement saying that “Trump is doing everything you can possibly do to screw up the economy.”
Wait, what? He’s doing everything to screw up the economy? Then why is it doing so well?! OK, that’s idiotic.
Now I kinda wanted to defend Maher because I’ve heard so many people on the right say similar things. Remember when people crapped on Krauthammer for saying we should hope Obama succeeds because he’s the head of the country after winning the election? Well, if you don’t want him to succeed then it kinda follows that you want the country to fail under his watch. But no one on the right was stupid enough to say that out loud.
But what’s weird here is that they don’t really care to have Trump’s policies fail – they just want him personally to fail. And if it takes down the country, who cares? Their feelings is all that counts. I think on our side, the more rational people want socialist policies to fail just enough so that Americans learn not to vote for them. And that’s a big difference from literally wanting the economy to collapse…
