Bill Maher came out and admitted what Democrats don’t want to say out loud again – the impeachment of President Trump hurt their cause and emboldened the president. From the Washington Examiner:
HBO host Bill Maher argued that impeaching President Trump turned out to be a mistake because it “emboldened him.”
The host’s remarks came during a conversation with director and liberal activist Michael Moore, as they both argued that the president has gotten out of control since he was impeached by the House of Representatives and acquitted by the Senate.
Bill Maher regrets impeachment, says it ’emboldened’ Trump Maher went as far as to say that “impeachment turned out to be a horrible thing,” explaining that doing so set forth the course of action that has resulted in Trump firing a multitude of inspectors general whom he claimed to no longer trust to fill the position.
Moore jumped in and brought the conversation back to the special counsel investigation into whether then-candidate Trump or any member of his campaign knowingly sought to conspire with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election.
Yup, he’s kinda right. This is why the more centrist establishment wing of the Democratic party was telling the progressive morons to chill the eff out on impeachment. They do it far too quickly with not enough people buying in, and likely wasted their opportunity. Now the country is kinda over it. And most people probably think you can only impeach a president once, so they’re not gonna support another go at it unless there’s really smoking gun evidence of an impeachable act.
And just for fun – here’s a few months back when Bill Maher was absolutely incensed that they hadn’t impeached Trump yet:
