Bloomberg Law reporter gets RAVAGED after using phony charge of anti-Semitism to get Trump official fired

Bloomberg Law reporter Ben Penn wrote an article this morning accusing a Trump official of posting ‘anti-Semitic’ remarks on Facebook when it was clear that the official was using sarcasm.

Penn took his baloney charge to the Labor Department and four hours later Olson resigned:

Penn is claiming that Leif Olson used two anti-Semitic tropes in an old Facebook post from 2016:

A recently appointed Trump Labor Department official with a history of advancing controversial conservative and faith-based causes in court has resigned after revelations that he wrote a 2016 Facebook post suggesting the Jewish-controlled media “protects their own.”

Four hours after Bloomberg Law requested comment from the White House and DOL about Leif Olson’s social media post, the department said he has resigned, without elaboration.

Olson, an unsuccessful GOP candidate in 2012 for a Texas district court judgeship, fired off a series of late-night posts on his personal Facebook page three years ago that started as a sarcastic quip about former House Speaker Paul Ryan’s blowout primary victory. They then devolved into an exchange referencing two anti-Semitic tropes: that Jews control the media and that they look out for members of their own faith.

Here’s the screenshot he posted of Olsen’s comments:

If you read that you’ll see it’s dripping with sarcasm. He’s not making anti-Semitic remarks at all. This is totally an invented controversy.

But this is what ‘journalist’ Ben Penn used against Olsen which, for whatever reason, resulted in his resignation. I’m guessing that after years of daily attacks on the Trump administration by this anti-Trump media, they simply didn’t want anything that even remotely looked like anti-Semitism that the media could use against them.

Penn subsequently got slammed on Twitter for destroying a man’s career with a phony charge of anti-Semitism:

John Podhoretz sent Penn a few scathing DM’s, which Penn turned around and posted as if he were the victim:

That didn’t help Penn’s cause at all, with Tom Elliot tweeting “Ben — who just randomly decided to invent a controversy and destroy someone’s life — is the real victim here”

Ben Shapiro responded saying “Nothing says ‘I’m a great journalist’ like defending your garbage journalism by spilling private texts all over your Twitter feed to pretend you’re a victim”

And lastly…

I’m sure Ben Penn will get an award for his phony reporting from his fellow anti-Trump colleagues, who are likely high-fiving him for taking out a member of the Trump administration.
