South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, weighed in this afternoon on the news of the anonymous letter writer coming out and speaking to the Washington Post about her allegation regarding teenaged groping against the widely revered and respected Judge Brett Kavanaugh just as he is about to become a Supreme Court Justice.
Graham says he would be open to testimony from accuser Ford, if she were to come before the committee to offer it. At such a hearing, where the liberal college professor would be under oath, Graham says he would weight her testimony against the other facts presented on Kavanaugh’s behalf. I would assume that includes the latter Chuck Grassley presented with 65 women on the record testifying to the quality of Kavanaugh’s character.
You could characterize Graham’s reaction, in which he included and echoed the reservations of the committee chair, as either a bipartisan outreach, a careful needle-threading, or a straight-up calling of a potential dem bluff. Depending on how you read it. (I think a little of each.)

“I agree with the concerns expressed in the Judiciary Committee’s statement about the substance and process regarding the allegations in this latest claim against Judge Kavanaugh.
“However, if Ms. Ford wishes to provide information to the committee, I would gladly listen to what she has to say and compare that against all other information we have received about Judge Kavanaugh.
“If the committee is to hear from Ms. Ford it should be done immediately so the process can continue as scheduled.”
