Bolton: Bin Laden was killed while Obama was president, not because he was president

John Bolton was interviewed by and asked if he felt safer on national security did than four years ago:

I think the threat of international terrorism has grown. It’s not been reduced. And I think the threat of nuclear proliferation from countries like N. Korea and Iran has increased.

I understand the Obama administration is trying to make the argument that foreign policy is a strength of theirs, using the killing of Osama bin Laden. But the way I would look at it is this: Osama bin Laden was killed while Obama was president–he wasn’t killed because Obama was president.
