BOOM: Gov DeSantis signs new law stripping Woke Disney of special district

“The corporate kingdom has come to an end.”

Governor Ron DeSantis has kept his word and has just a signed a law stripping the very woke Walt Disney of the state agreement which gave them governing powers over their special district.

The new law appoints a state-controlled board to oversee the special district and it will ensure that Disney’s debts are not transferred to taxpayers.

Governor DeSantis will pick the members of this state board.

According to the new law, “Disney will no longer control its own government, will live under the same laws as everyone else, will be responsible for their outstanding debts, and will pay their fair share of taxes.”

I’m very glad to see this come to fruition from a governor who isn’t afraid of doing what’s right.

The former Vice President and Governor of Indiana, Mike Pence, criticized DeSantis for making this move last week, suggesting it was “beyond the scope” of what he is as a conservative who believes in limited government.

But that’s ridiculous. The then-govenor and legislature gave this special privilege to Disney many decades ago and the now-governor and legislature can take it away. It was because of limited government that DeSantis and the legislature acted, suggesting Disney should not have special rights and privileges that other corporations don’t get.

Honestly, this special district never would have come on the radar of DeSantis if Disney hadn’t vocally opposed his legislation protecting elementary school children from the indoctrination and grooming of the LGBTers.
