Remember when Obama said he ‘evolved’ on gay marriage and America groaned?
Well that’s apparently what Kirsten Gillibrand has done when it comes to the NRA because what she says now about the NRA is not how she’s always felt.
Here she is on Sunday lambasting the NRA as the worst organization in the country, accusing them of spreading hatred:
The NRA didn’t take kindly to her ridiculous criticism and released a letter exposing how Gillibrand used to feel about the NRA and the second amendment.
It was a letter that Gillibrand wrote to the NRA back in 2008 and it’s decidedly pro-2nd amendment and pro-NRA:
Wow! Gillibrand doesn’t sound like a leftist at all in that letter. Rather she hits back against leftist talking points, whether it be about the 2nd amendment only applying to militias or the banning of magazines based on capacity size.
She ends this very pro-NRA letter by saying “I appreciate the work that the NRA does to protect gun owners rights and I look forward to working with you for many years in Congress”.
So what happened to Gillibrand? Did she really change her mind on these issues (read evolve) or is she just telling Democrats what they want to hear in order for her to get elected? With so many Democrats running for president, this might just sink her 2020 hopes.
