President-elect Trump nominated Brendan Carr last night to lead the FCC. Carr is currently the lead Republican commissioner on the five-member commission.

Carr has already stated that the wants to end DEI at the FCC:
The FCC’s most recent budget request said that promoting DEI was the agency’s second highest strategic goal.
