BOOM: Ron DeSantis to sign executive order protecting parent’s RIGHT to decide whether children wear masks in schools

Ron DeSantis has made clear that Florida is not again going the way of lockdowns or mask mandates and announced today that he will soon be signing an executive order to protect the right of parents to decide whether their children wear masks in schools.

Below are his full comments on this from this morning, which begin at the 2 minute mark:

Here’s the important part on the executive order:

I think this decision about whether parents want their kids to have to wear masks all day in school, I think that’s a decision that falls squarely within the contours of this parent’s bill of rights that I signed. And so accordingly, very soon I’ll be signing an executive order which directs the Florida Department of Education and Department of Health to issue emergency rule protecting the rights of parents to make this decision about wearing masks for their children. We think that’s the most fair to do it.

You know I have young kids. My wife and I are not going to do masks with the kids; we never have. I want to see my kids smiling. I want them having fun.

I don’t know – my kids are a little younger but I can tell you whatever you think of masks, you gotta wear it properly. My kids ain’t going to wear that thing properly. You know that.

I love what DeSantis is doing in Florida and I’m sure the people of Florida do as well. Leaving masking up to the parent is exactly the right decision because it’s their right to begin with. And as he pointed out in the longer video, forced masking is contrary to the science with respect to children.
