The sandwich meat company, Steak-umm, has gotten a lot of attention overnight because of their social media savvy Twitter account taking on Neil deGrasse Tyson for declaring that science is ‘true’ whether you believe in it or not:
The good thing about Science is that it’s true, whether or not you believe in it.

Steak-umm continued:
the irony of neil’s tweet is that by framing science itself as “true” he’s influencing people to be more skeptical of it in a time of unprecedented misinformation. science is an ever refining process to find truth, not a dogma. no matter his intent, this message isn’t helpful https://t.co/sf4zLm33Jm

nope. science itself isn't "true" it's a constantly refining process used to uncover truths based in material reality and that process is still full of misteaks. neil just posts ridiculous sound bites like this for clout and he has no respect for epistemology

I never thought a sandwich meat company could be so philosophical, but whoever is running this account is absolutely right. Science is our attempt to uncover the truths of nature and to understand them. Just as Steak-umms said, it is a refining process to find truth, not dogma. But much of what we get nowadays is dogma, especially around controversial issues like transgenderism and vaccines.
Why just today, the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is being put on hold because of a blood-clot issue. But up to this point you were being told you by dogmatists that you were ANTI-SCIENCE if you refused to take the vaccine.
The same is true with transgenderism. It’s these dogmatists who ignore actual science and claim a man can feel like a woman and thus he is a woman, and you have to accept it or you’re the bigot.
Kudos to Steak-umms for calling out Tyson like this. It’s apparently not the first time, either:
