Senator Richard Blumenthal wasn’t hitting on much today in his questioning of AG Barr, getting denied by Barr to turn over records of his conversation with Mueller as the hearing adjourned:
You really should watch it, but here’s a brief transcript of the best part:
BLUMENTHALL: Did anyone…memorialize your conversation with Robert Mueller?
BARR: Yes.
…
BLUMENTHALL: May we have those notes?
BARR: No.
BLUMENTHALL: Why not?
BARR: Why should you have them?
Lindsey Graham then interrupted before closing the hearing, saying Mueller could dispute anything he felt wasn’t accurate from Barr’s account of their remarks.
Which is the point really. Why would Blumenthal need those notes if Mueller’s going to be testifying before the committee? Just dumb and I’m glad Barr shot his request down.
