Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent totally ripped into Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell in an interview with Laura Ingraham tonight.
Bessent explains why below, but he accused Powell of having Trump Derangement Syndrome:
I wouldn’t have necessarily expected something like that from Bessent, but he totally backed up his claim with examples of Powell’s bewildering actions, while under Biden and now under Trump.
They say Bessent is up for the job of Fed Chairman when Powell is out, and I think he’d be great at it. I wonder if he could do it while staying Treasury Secretary?
