BREAKING: AG Barr OVERRULES court decision making asylum seekers eligible for release on bond!

Well this is interesting.

The Attorney General has overruled a 2005 immigration decision that made asylum seekers who passed a ‘credible fear’ interview eligible for release on bond:

In other words, asylum seekers who pass this credible fear interview will no longer be eligible for release on bond when this goes into effect, which is 90 days:

Some on Twitter are saying this wouldn’t apply to families, noting that Flores still applies there…

I see liberals on Twitter crying foul, as you might expect.

The big question is if DHS decides not to release credible asylum seekers on bond, where will they keep them? The last I heard was that DHS was just releasing illegals into the country because they were so overwhelmed they didn’t have any place to detain them. And as summer approaches you can bet this is only gonna get worse.

You can read the full 11-page ruling here if you like.

  1. Release them to Sanctuary Cities.. ooops, sorry, forgot that Liberals don’t want them either.

  2. For the first time since 2008, the United States has a real Attorney General.

    1. When I used to live at the border, that was exactly what they did. I saw a border patrol van pull up to the border and they were released back into Mexico. But I also saw many floating across the river on an inner tube. Sometimes the patrol went after them, but many made it across.

  3. If they are t released, where are they going to put them? I commend him but I don’t understand how this is possible..The judges need to do mass deportation hearings…It has been done when there is backlog…Why not now at such a critical time?
And taking them to Sanctuary cities (where most end up anyway,) will still cause a drain on society as a whole..These Loons will show how bad things are because Trump sent them there and now they have a State of Emergency…I can see it now. So either way, the taxpayer everywhere is on the hook.
They need to be deported the same day they step foot on US soil.. And while we do that, Thhe Useless POS’s need to get off their A—#$ and fix this. The troublemakers are probably wining and dining Bill Weld on their Easter Break. !

  4. FEMA has thousands of campers that would accommodate these illegal invaders who are victims of their own criminality just as well as they would American citizens who have been displaced by natural disasters.

    1. Warren Buffet can sell more defective Clayton Homes to FEMA ala Haiti Earthquake that the Clinton Foundation profited ?

  5. this is very curious?
I never thought that illegal aliens would have to pay a jail bond.

If I am correct, what would the bond be?

shouldn’t they have an address in the USA?

Do they consider the high flight risk?

The bond ranges from $500 to $10000, then they should raise the minimum to deny release.

And if they are collecting bond, where does the money go? And where does an illegal alien get $500 or $10000 to be freed, much less show collateral. or is this a lie also?
I do not think we are hearing the total story. to many conflicting truths.

  9. Remember when Sessions was AG, and he just folded to those like the 9th circuit etc? Sessions could as easily as AG Barr reverse the decisions of those rogue courts, but he never did. Seems to me that Sessions was a complete disaster, even though this website was against him being trashed by Trump, but the best thing that has ever happed that he was fired. I would guess, or hope the RS will get on the same page as the new AG Barr.

    1. Barr can’t overrule or reverse the Ninth Circuit, nor does he attempt or purport to do so here.

    2. @scope-formerly-pinecone This site has never taken a position on Sessions.

I frequently pointed out that Sessions had, up until he resigned, been the most aggressive enforcer of immigration law we’ve had in a long time. That was just a plain fact.

Also that I suspect a lot of the Trump bashing of Sessions may have been a game Trump & Sessions were running while Sessions quietly made sure the deep state plotters and leakers were gone after and being isolated and/or fired.

Those are reasonable speculations, given Sessions’ history and experience. You could still be right, but If forced to bet, I’d go with Sessions having been far more effective than we even know.

  10. There is no obligation to allow on-the-spot, so called “asylum seekers” into the country, during consideration of their stories.

Sounds like they’ve got 90 days to figure that out….

    1. Wow—just plain WOW…what an incredible insight into the corruption at the highest levels. This is staggering…mind blowing
If true, Trump is 1000x smarter than I first thought.
      Thanks for sharing.

  12. Plenty of room at Club Gitmo since the Bamster released a bunch of terrorists to attack us again.

  13. Since they broke the law put them in a cell until their court date. That’s what you’re supposed to do with criminals.

      1. Agreed BUT they are releasing the ones that come across ILLEGALLY as well and they should NOT be doing that…….family or not. They should be taken to a port of entry and told to come in the RIGHT way!!!

      2. @slantry Most, as it turns out, aren’t eligible for asylum. Therefore, they have broken the law and lied on top of it.

  14. Ed Rendell, former Gov of Pennsylvania (D), was just discussing this with Martha MacCallum. He kept insisting that illegals asking for asylum should be held close to the border until their cases could be addressed, rather than sending them away to Sanctuary Cities “where they would just have to come back anyway for their court date.” When MM pointed out that over 90% aren’t eligible for asylum, and the backlog for holding them would take years, he said “we should build facilities for them, and hold them.”

What does he suggest? Hotels? Internment camps? He didn’t say. But when MM said shouldn’t the law be changed he got that “lalalalalala” look and said NO.

    This is the Democrat Party.

    1. Since Ed Rendell is so wanting to be a “Helpy Helperton” someone get Ed Rendell’s address. I’m SURE a former Governor has a nice, furnished basement for a couple dozen…

    2. Hmmm. Building a facility to hold them sounds better to me than putting them into the population. But Rendell is a Dem. You’d think he’d be demanding immediate release anywhere.

      1. Mr. Rendell was my Gov. for 8 years..I am still waiting for a relief on my property taxes..He is and was a joke…

        1. Mine just doubled thanks to a democrat county and school district which provides us with graduates that can’t read a tape measure

      2. @d-guest What he said was just a common Dem talking point with no substance behind it. Ask them for details and you’ll get “hummana hummana.”

I have never heard anyone explain what a “facility” would look like, how big it would be, or how much it would cost.

  15. If they are t released, where are they going to put them? I commend him but I don’t understand how this is possible..The judges need to do mass deportation hearings…It has been done when there is backlog…Why not now at such a critical time?

  16. El Salvador to San Jose, Costa Rica –20 hours by bus $66
El Salvador to San Jose California – 3 days by car -$500

Costa Rica is stable, safe and Spanish speaking. If people want to flee violence in El Salvador is makes no sense to spend so much time and money to illegally enter the US.

GO TO COSTRA RICA – IT IS IN YOUR BACK YARD

  17. Build the Wall. Send the message – don’t come here. Go to Costa Rica, go to Mexico, go to Canada, but do not even bother coming here to the US.

  18. Why do Democrats want to flood this country with illegals. California schools suck up a mandatory by statute 50% of our tax dollars, and are ranked #45 nationwide because today they are filled with illegals.

    This makes no sense.

    1. It’s only for future voters and to keep Liberals in permanent power. It’s all about power!!!! Not what’s good for the country.

  19. So is it immigration appeals court Judges making many of the decisions that allows Illegal immigrants to wander all over America without any accountability..Did not even know we had Immigration appeals Court Judges with so much authority..Do these Judges have to go through the normal process or are they just appointed via friendship or graft.

    1. Immigration court (i.e. the Executive Office of Immigration Review) is an Article I court that is a part of the DoJ. Immigration judges are DoJ employees, which is why Barr is able to overrule their precedents.
