UPDATES: One in custody as barricade situation at Fort Belvoir “resolved peacefully”

BREAKING UPDATE
WUSA 9 reports: “A person is in custody after police and FBI responded to a barricade situation at Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County Sunday, authorities said.”

Update 2: Fort Belvoir Army Base released this statement.

News has been slow to come out today on a barricade situation at Fort Belvoir in Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. Information has been scarce for details, and the base has only released one statement, just two hours ago. However, a local with a police scanner actually first reported the situation on social media much earlier before the FBI took over the scene. It was posted at around 4 a.m. Eastern but says the situation had already been going on for several hours.

Some reporters have video of SWAT and other response vehicles arriving on scene still this afternoon, including WUSA9’s Katie Kyros, who also has an update from the FBI.

Fort Belvoir’s statement only acknowledges that the situation is ongoing and that they cannot comment further.

Unverified reports are showing up online but there’s literally no way to put any stock in them. I’m just noting that the tweets exist.

THIS IS A BREAKING/DEVELOPING STORY AND WILL BE UPDATED AS NEW INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE.
