When Trump put Pence in charge of the White House COVID-19 response, I never for a moment thought Trump wasn’t still in charge and he certainly acted like he was. He never shrunk from his responsibility to the country to solve the COVID pandemic.
But with this, I can’t help but think that Biden is putting Kamala in charge of the border so he doesn’t have to be held accountable for it any longer, at least directly. He won’t have to travel to the border or deal with the Mexican and Central American presidents (health concerns?), or take questions about it from the press. ‘Just ask Kamala’, I expect him to say. Considering how much Biden’s been hiding from the press since he became president (and before), I feel like he’s doing this so he can just pass the buck to Kamala and not have to deal with it anymore.
Maybe I’m wrong about this, but we’ll see as time goes forward.
