BREAKING: Biden had a phone call with Putin and the official READOUT is headdesk

Hard to say whether warmongers will love or hate this development, because on the one hand they want more and more bluster between leaders so they can their war, but on the other hand Biden is an idiot and this sounds like it was embarrassing.

He told Putin that invading Ukraine would “diminish Russia’s standing.”

I mean — really? How do libs still think trotting out “wrong side of history” and “you’ll be dragged on Twitter” arguments works on foreign bad guys?

But he also gave the mongers something to monger about. “President Biden was clear with President Putin that while the United States remains prepared to engage in diplomacy, in full coordination with our Allies and partners, we are equally prepared for other scenarios.”

Meanwhile, it sure looks like, still looks like, as Scoop pointed out, the invasion is going to happen anyway, reputations on TikTok notwithstanding.

Here’s the readout.

Readout of President Biden’s Call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia
President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. spoke today with President Vladimir Putin of Russia about Russia’s escalating military buildup on the borders of Ukraine. President Biden was clear that, if Russia undertakes a further invasion of Ukraine, the United States together with our Allies and partners will respond decisively and impose swift and severe costs on Russia. President Biden reiterated that a further Russian invasion of Ukraine would produce widespread human suffering and diminish Russia’s standing. President Biden was clear with President Putin that while the United States remains prepared to engage in diplomacy, in full coordination with our Allies and partners, we are equally prepared for other scenarios.

Talk about that or anything else you like below.
