BREAKING: Border Patrol agents RETURN FIRE across border at drug cartel gunmen

It’s just breaking now that Mexican drug cartel gunmen fired at Border Patrol agents as they were trying to get illegals through the river and across the border.

This happened near Fronton, Texas and fortunately no border patrol officers were injured.

Here’s more from Bill Melugin, who says “the illegal aliens did not make it across”:

Per multiple law enforcement sources, within the last hour, Border Patrol agents near Fronton, TX were fired upon from MX by suspected cartel gunmen as a group of illegal aliens were being brought across the river. I’m told BP returned fire, nobody hit on either side, and that the illegal aliens did not make it across.

 
Melugin adds that the Mexican military is now staging on their side of the border to prevent this from happening again:
