Holy crap. GOP Congressman Steve Scalise has been shot during a bipartisan congressional baseball game.

David Woodruff seems to suggest that there is more than one injury, as he points out a helicopter has left twice with victims, as well as an ambulance. I saw somewhere that there were possibly four injured but I’ll see if I can update you on that.

According to Fox News, Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas) was taken away on a stretcher.

Rep. Brad Wenstrup was one of the first to get to Scalise, says he did what he did in Iraq, assessed Scalise’s wounds and tried to stop the bleeding. He says Scalise was conscious the whole time:

Now that’s bravery and courage. I hope we hear more about this officer who took the shooter down.

Barton describes the shooter as a middle aged anglo man, wearing blue and possibly having both a long gun and a pistol.

It’s now being reported that it was a jogger who asked about the political affiliation of the baseball players, not the shooter.
