According to Harmeet Dhillon, a federal court has ordered the government to stop trying to breaking into the phones they seized from James O’Keefe in order for arguments to be made to appoint a special master:
BREAKING! The federal court has just ordered the DOJ to STOP extracting data from our client, journalist James O’Keefe’s phone, and ordered a hearing. Counsel for Project Veritas asked the court to do this yesterday! pic.twitter.com/nBrmf4myuj

I hope this means that the DOJ hasn’t already broken into O’Keefe’s phones. Either way, they have to stop all extraction and review.
I know O’Keefe isn’t an attorney with confidential client privileges but given what he does for a living, I think a special master is highly appropriate and hopefully the judge who ordered this will as well.
Just fyi, the judge who gave this order is an Obama appointee. 😬
