USA TODAY – House Democrats will announce articles of impeachment on Tuesday, outlining the case against President Donald Trump in a historic move that has only been taken a few times throughout our nation’s history.
Democrats plan to announce the articles in a morning news conference, a senior Democratic aide told USA TODAY, who would not detail what the specific articles contain, only that there are “less than five” articles in total.
The announcement follows an all-day hearing in which the House Judiciary Committee heard from lawyers for the Intelligence Committee — Daniel Goldman for the Democrats and Stephen Castor for the Republicans — where the pair of attorneys presented reports on findings in the Ukraine matter and fielded questions from lawmakers.
While this is no shock, it really does feel like Democrats are moving at lightspeed on this to try and keep this from affecting their members in 2020. I know Americans have a short memory, but this isn’t something one forgets.
Who knows, at this pace they might be voting on these articles tomorrow morning too!
